Welcome to the 2025 Twin Cities Challenge Varsity and JV Tournaments held at Burnsville High School and Eastview High School! The Blaze Volleyball Program, Lightning Volleyball Program, Burnsville High School and Eastview High School are honored to host 48 great teams this weekend, and we are excited for the level of competition that we will all be able to watch and enjoy!

A lot of work has gone into making this tournament possible, and we wouldn’t be anywhere without the support of our Booster Clubs, school districts, and our communities. The Coaches and Players would like to thank each and every one of you for helping us make this tournament a reality.

We want to wish everyone the best of luck and hope you enjoy your time at Burnsville High School and Eastview High School.

Tournament Format

The Twin Cities Challenge is a two-day, 48 team tournament with 32 Varsity Teams and 16 JV Teams competing in their respective divisions. All teams will play a total of five matches. Each team will play two matches on Friday and three on Saturday. Saturday brackets will be determined by the outcome of Friday’s matches and will result in finishes from first place to 32nd place. We will try and play all matches at their scheduled times. If both teams agree, matches may begin early after each team’s first match has been completed each day. The top team listed on the bracket will be the home team.

Match Play

All matches will be two out of three sets. The first two sets will be played to 25 points. If a third set is necessary, it will be played to 15 points. A team must be ahead by two points before a winner can be declared in any set. There is no cap.

Warm-up Policy

Warm-ups will be 15 minutes (5 min shared, 5 min visiting team, 5 min home team; serving should be done during warm-up time). Warm-up times can be shortened after each team’s first match, but cannot be extended. This must be agreed up by both coaches. The team listed on the top of the will be the home team and has choice of bench. The visiting team will call the coin flip and will be on the net first during the warm-up period. Warm-up balls and carts will be provided on each court. Please leave all balls and carts on their respective courts. There will be no ball handling in the hallways. ‘Off’ teams should plan to help with shagging to ensure that balls do not enter other courts.

Line Judge Policy

Each team is responsible for providing one line judge for each of their matches.

Protest Policy

Any protest should be resolved by the court officials. Protests should be filed immediately after set/match. We ask that you honor all decisions made by the tournament officials.

Tournament Awards
Team trophies will be awarded to the tournament champion, runner-up, third place, fifth place, and each division champion. Each Gold Division Champion will also reach TC Challenge Champions T-Shirts!

Spectator Behavior Policy
All fans are expected to be respectful of all teams, coaches, players, and officials at all times. Any misconduct will result in immediate dismissal from the entire tournament.
