2025 Registration and Tryout Information

Tryouts for the 2025 Burnsville High School Volleyball Program will begin on Monday, August 11th, and will be completed at noon on Wednesday, August 13th. If necessary, cuts will be made throughout the process, and teams will be posted by 1:30pm on the 13th. Players should not plan anything before 6:00pm August 11th through August 13th.

Missing any part of the tryout process will affect team placement, as there will not be any make-up for missed time. All family trips, birthday parties, the State Fair, etc., should be scheduled before tryouts or around your practice schedule. If you have a question, please contact Coach Wastvedt via email.

7th and 8th graders are permitted to try out for the High School Team; however, please honestly consider your daughter's current abilities before sending her to try out. We look forward to many years with all of our future Blaze, but it's important to ensure that we have an effective tryout process for those who meet or are near this level. Placement is not guaranteed on any team just because an individual participated in tryouts.

All participants must be registered before they are allowed in the gym and must have an up-to-date physical on file.

• You MUST be registered before you can participate in tryouts. You cannot register at tryouts. You will NOT be able to tryout until registration is completed.

• You need a valid, up-to-date sports physical on file before you will be permitted to participate in any tryout or practice.

• If you are having trouble registering, please stop in the High School Office for help.

• High School Volleyball - Placement on a team is not guaranteed. Please register using the "Burnsville Activity & Athletic Registration" link.

• Middle School Volleyball - Open to girls in grades 6-8 and will be offered at both Eagle Ridge Middle School and Nicollet Middle School. Middle School Girls Volleyball will begin in September. Please register using the "Eagle Ridge MS Athletics Registration" link or the "Nicolet MS Athletics Registration" link that corresponds to the school you attend.

SPORTS PHYSICALS

Physical Examination

Students registering for Athletics must have a current physical examination on file in the Athletics Office before the student is authorized to participate in practice/tryouts. To ensure clearance for participation, physicals should be completed and turned in to the Athletics Office no later than 3 school days prior to the first day of practice/tryouts.

Sports Physicals are valid for 3 years from the date of last exam.

HIGH SCHOOL TRYOUT SCHEDULE

All Held at Burnsville High School

Monday, August 11th

• 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - First Tryout Session for All Grades Trying Out (Grades 7-12)

• 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM - Tryout Session II (Grades 7-10)

• 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM - Tryout Session II (Grades 11-12)

Tuesday, August 12th

• 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Tryout Session III (Grades 7-12)

• 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM - Tryout Session IV (Grades 7-10)

• 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM - Tryout Session IV (Grades 11-12)

Wednesday, August 13th

• 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Final Tryout Session for All Grades Trying Out (Grades 7-12)

• TEAMS WILL BE POSTED ONLINE BY 1:30 PM!

• First Team Practices for Each Team will be from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Other Important Notes:

• Girls in Grades 7-10 could potentially be invited to the sessions for Grades 11-12 if the coaching staff sees fit to do so. This is communicated beforehand and they are welcome to accept or decline that offer. This occurrence is not a guarantee to be placed on a team older than 9A and 9B.

• For planning purposes, once the season gets going our regular schedule will be

  • Strength Training - 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

  • Practice - 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM

• Each player will need to bring their phone to Wednesday's (8/13) first practice. They will get set up with the sportsYou App that we will utilize for communication, scheduling, volunteering, and more.

• There is a parent option as well to download the sportsYou App so that everyone can stay in the loop. This information will be given to the parents at the Fall Parent's Meeting.

• Mandatory Fall Parent's Meeting will be Monday, August 18th at 7:00 PM. All student-athletes must have at least one parent/guardian present. More details to come!
